Doncaster Foster Carers' Association

 

Doncaster Foster Carers' Association, known as DFCA, was formed in June 2014.

 

We work closely with the  City of Doncaster Council and their fostering service, Foster for Doncaster. We arrange a large number of activities and events for foster carers, their children and those children that they look after. 

 

Our vision is:

To work closely with the City of Doncaster Council and Foster for Doncaster to maximise the opportunities for young people who are fostered to thrive and fulfil their potential.

 

Our mission is:

• to support, encourage and represent all City of Doncaster Council foster carers

• to provide a forum for discussion and represent views to the City of Doncaster Council

• to provide opportunities for social interaction and enjoyment for foster carers, their children, those young people in foster care, our volunteers and employees of the City of Doncaster Council

• to champion the rights of all young people being looked after and work with the City of Doncaster Council and others to enable those young people to contribute to the development of the fostering service and to achieve their full academic, physical, social, cultural and spiritual potentials

• to provide activities and events to further the development of the fostering community

• to engage in educational and promotional activities

• to support the recruitment of new carers
